The Murray Football League is widely regarded as the “Family-Oriented” League – all games at the one venue on the same day.
The League stretches from the City of Greater Shepparton in the South to the Riverina township of Deniliquin in the north, and from the town of Mulwala in the east to Echuca/Moama in the west.
Apart from the City of Greater Shepparton the League encompasses the Shires of Murray, Berrigan, Corowa, Deniliquin, Campaspe and Moira.
On any given Saturday in the Murray League some 1,200 footballers and 1000 netballers are active participants in the various grades of football and netball.
Additional back-up support staff such as Umpires (Central, Goal and Boundary), Trainers, Runners, Water Carriers, Time Keepers, Score Board Attendants etc. mean that the total number of participants swell to over 2,450 personnel involved in the winter sporting program for which the Murray League has become so well known.
Games occur from March to September, with pre-season training commencing for most clubs in early-December. Finals are well attended, with massive crowds enjoying the Grand Final each year.
